The narrow headland of Sirmione is a gem of art and history and was defined “Pearl of the islands and peninsulas” by the Roman poet Catullus.
In the middle of beautiful nature you can admire the fortress, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful preserved castles of the Scaliger age, and the archaeological area of the Grotto di Catullus, splendid remains of a grand Roman villa, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The thermal baths of Sirmione have been attracting people since Roman times thanks to the therapeutic properties of the hot springs bubbling from the ground of the lake, which are highly appreciated to this very day.
