Lake Garda has always been a reference point for sports and outdoor activities. Every area has its own peculiarities and the entire lake hosts specialised structures and services that offer all kinds of sports.
Golf and tennis lovers find a wide range of possibilities to practise their beloved land sports while admiring the surrounding nature and the lake.
Europlan has the right structures, means and resources to offer a big choice of exceptional activities satisfying every athlete, thanks to agreements with some golf courses and free access to 7 clay tennis courts at the Appartamenti Arca, accessible from June to October, and easy reachable with our shuttle service. Many free offers, among which there are some interesting special excursions.
The hiking trail on La Rocca di Garda rock is an easy tour, 6 km long, that takes you through the morainic hills of the inland to the high plateau of the Rocca, an oasis of peace and tranquillity from where you have a thrilling view of Bardolino on one side and Garda on the other.
The enchanting path winds through forests, vineyards, villas as well as archaeological, medieval and military remnants. The Strada dell’Uva wine route is a free tour of about 20 km that takes you into spectacular sceneries. From the centre of Bardolino, you head to the picturesque wine route that leads through the morainic hills and rewards you with an amazing panorama of Lake Garda. In front of you a harmonious land honed and modelled by agricultural work, at the slopes of the majestic Monte Baldo.
Lake Garda boasts many water sports possibilities. It is especially renowned for sailing and many important annual regattas.
Other sports are wakeboard, kitesurf, windsurf, canoe, snorkelling or parasailing, where a motorboat carries you into the air, and last but not least the most fashionable sport of the recent years: the stand up paddling (SUP). Along the wild torrents in the hinterland you might try an adrenaline rush doing rafting and canyoning. Otherwise, you could discover the hidden treasures on the lake bottom diving into the blue waters or watching the sunrise surfing on the lake. The possibilities are endless.
Among the mountain sports, the most popular ones are mountain biking and climbing.
There are numerous via ferrate (equipped climbing and hiking roads) in the area; Arco is the largest climbing area in Italy and meeting point of the international climbing scene. For hikers and cyclists, the Monte Baldo is an interesting destination. It can be reached by cable car 10 months a year and offers many scenic paths with great views in the middle of nature. Monte Baldo is also a take-off point for paragliders. Even the most expert paragliders come here to train, thanks to the particular natural conditions and the high security levels offered by the lake water and the mountain height. Furthermore, the mountains are the right place for winter sports, such as skiing and snowboarding. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful landscape while walking with snowshoes along the signed paths. One of the most fascinating paths is the route from Prada to the alpine Fiori del Baldo hut, leading along the “Strada per Noale” and a gravel road through the forest. The approximately two-hour hike, which covers a height of up to nearly 900 metres, provides a view of the Brenta Dolomites and the entire Po Valley.
The sports events on Lake Garda are numerous. In May, there is the Bike Festival, a well-known meeting place for mountain-bike lovers and in August/September, the Rock Master, an international festival that attracts the best professional climbers. As for sailing enthusiasts, they can enjoy the La Centomiglia, the worldwide most prestigious and spectacular regatta on a lake. The sports agenda continues with the Punta Veleno, one of the most arduous hill climbing bike races in Italy and the beautiful Lake Garda Mountain Race that takes place on the Monte Baldo. Moreover, there is the International Triathlon of Bardolino, Italy’s first triathlon that has been held every June since 1984. In addition, Lake Garda offers plenty opportunities to practise horse-riding, sport fishing, archery and many more activities.
