Visit to the vineyards of a winery with tasting of 4 wines, DOP olive oil from Lake Garda and a selection of local cheeses and cold cuts.
The company is a prestigious wine-growing estate, located in the four classic areas of Veronese wine production: Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave, Valdadige. The aim is to produce quality wines that express the varietal purity of the vineyard of origin.
Guerrieri Rizzardi produces quality wines in each of the historic family estates, cultivating autochthonous grapes such as Corvina and Corvinone in Valpolicella and Garganega in Soave, along with other varieties such as Barbera, Sangiovese, Merlot and Chardonnay, which are well suited to the Verona area. The relationship between land, history and tradition, as well as the balance with the surrounding nature and respect for biodiversity have always guided the company’s philosophy.
You will visit the winery to learn about the whole production cycle and sample 4 wines: Bardolino Classico DOP, Chiaretto Bardolino Classico DOP, “Tacchetto” Bardolino Classico DOP and “Munus” Rosso Veronese IGP. You will taste the Guerrieri Rizzardi Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Garda Orientale DOP) and a selection of local cheeses and cold cuts.
One of the best known wines from Italy. It originates from a territory that overlooks Lake Garda, a hilly environment with a Mediterranean imprint, hence this area is also called “Olive Riviera”. The Bardolino Classico of Guerrieri Rizzardi is born in the vineyards of the Bardolino Classico region between Bardolino and Cavaion. It is a traditional wine that at the same time has a strong personality.
It results from the vinification of Corvina, Rondinella, Merlot, Molinara, Negrara, Corvinone and Sangiovese grapes, which are fermented in cement containers. The wine ages from 3 to 12 months in stainless steel tanks and in vitrified steel tanks before being bottled.
This Bardolino Classico is a wine with a characteristic fruity note, enriched by spicy nuances. Perfect for those who like to drink a young wine which is also easy to pair. In the mouth it is dry, aromatic, slightly bitter but overall harmonious and with a long finish.
This wine, produced for the first time in 1896, is symbol of its region and enjoys an increasing popularity on the international market. The Chiaretto by Guerrieri Rizzardi is one of the most famous wines produced on the shores of Lake Garda, renowned for its great freshness and for its colour. It is a summer wine that is ideal as an aperitif.
Born in the vineyards in the hills of Cavaion Veronese, in the heart of the Bardolino Classico DOC region, it is produced with the grapes of red Bardolino (Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese, Molinara and Negrara) and vinified in rosé. To obtain this distinctive colour, the must is left in contact with the red grape skin for a short time only, about 12 hours. The wine ages in stainless steel and vitrified cement tanks before being bottled. It is a charming rosé wine, with a light bouquet of flowers with shades of strawberry and pleasant citrus notes.
Light on the palate and with a good acidity.
A single vineyard wine, consisting of Corvina, Merlot and Rondinella grapes from the Tacchetto cru of Guerrieri Rizzardi, located at the foot of the Adige valley and Monte Baldo. Dark ruby to the sight and very bright. Rich and reactive, with first sensations suggesting red currant, violet, strawberry candy and black pepper.
It is vinified in steel to preserve the freshness and the characteristics of the Corvina and Merlot grapes. It is a harmonious wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes and has a powerful aroma and taste with a long finish.
The name Munus means “gift” in Latin. It is a wine that is produced in limited quantities (23.000 bottles) consisting only of a selection of the highest quality grapes from the Bardolino and Cavaion vineyards, both of which are located in the Classico region. It is the only wine from the Bardolino area that ages in oak barrels. Composed mainly of the grape varieties Corvina, Merlot and Ancellotta, it is fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels (25 hectoliters), followed by a further refinement of a few months in the bottle, before being sold.
The Munus is characterized by a bright red colour. The nose perceives hints of red and black berries, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate, it is intense, concentrated and pleasantly full-bodied. The wine has an ageing potential of over 5 years.
