In an idyllic setting, the ancient property in the heart of Valpolicella belonging to the Counts Serego Alighieri, direct descendants of the poet Dante Alighieri. Since 1973, the Counts have being working with Masi Agricola company producing together prestigious and noble wines. You will be part of an unforgettable experience, the perfect union of art, history and excellent wines. During the tasting you will be introduced to the three most representative wines of Valpolicella: Amarone, Recioto and Valpolicella Superiore.
The deep garnet colour of Vaio Armaron is part of the international oenological culture and represents the symbol of the Serego Alighieri estate, an excellent location to taste an unforgettable wine. After a drying period called appassimento, the wine ages in oak-barrels for 3 years and then in cherry barrels for 4 months until resulting in this extraordinary nectar.
Noble, sweet and traditional red wine of Valpolicella that gave birth to the “more modern” Amarone. The best way to enjoy and capture its complexity is a quiet and inmost tasting: Recioto needs time. Traditionally, it belongs to sweet wines but there is much more to Recioto than its definition.
An elegant, original and well-bodied wine, complex in flavours thanks to the clay and calcareous soil it derives from. It shows deep ruby hues with violet tinges and an opulent and dense body with a rich bouquet where you can recognize ripe red and dark fruits like the black cherry and the plum. A glass of Valpolicella is a fulfilling experience “as friendly as the house of your brother, if you and your brother are good friends” as Ernest Hemingway described it in “Across the River and Into the Trees”.
